Travelling to Port Macquarie

Port Macquarie is easily accessible from major cities in Australia and there are a number of transport options available:

Coach
Premier Motor Service and Greyhound Australia operate regular services from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Port Macquarie.

Rail
CountryLink operates three XPT train services daily between Sydney and Wauchope Station (20 minutes drive from Port Macquarie), one of which connects with a coach service to the Port Macquarie CBD.  Countrylink also provides daily services from Brisbane, Melbourne and regional NSW.

Air
QantasLink and Virgin Blue offer regular daily flights to Port Macquarie. Brindabella Airlines has a direct service from Brisbane to Port Macquarie.

Driving
From Sydney it is a 4.5 hour drive to Port Macquarie, heading north on the Pacific Highway.  From Brisbane, it is a 7 hour drive south.  The Oxley Highway, over the Great Dividing Range, provides access from Tamworth and Western New South Wales. Contact one of our local Car Hire companies if you don’t have your own vehicle.

Getting Around
The local bus company in Greater Port Macquarie is Busways, which operates services   from Wauchope Railway Station, shopping centres and most beaches.
