Submitting your abstract / paper
1. Prepare your abstract/session proposal
Use the MS Word 2003 or 2007 to prepare your abstract/session proposal.
Include the author/s name/s, affiliations and addresses and indicate the presenting author in the document.
2. Register your presentation
Click on the abstract/session proposal submission link to enter your contact details and the presentation title. You can enter the details for multiple presentations.
3. Upload your abstract/session proposal
At the end of the registration process you will be asked to upload your abstract/session proposal in MS Word (.doc or .dox).
Themes
Authors are NOT required to have a theme for their abstract, however they are asked to ensure that the paper addresses areas of interest to choral conductors, such as (but not limited to)
- Issues concerning Primary / Secondary / Community Choirs
- Conducting and rehearsing techniques
- Choral music and popular musicians
- Choral music in and through the community
- Repertoire for choral conductor (please state genre / style)
- Technology and choral musicians
- Inclusion and choral music.
Submission formats
Spoken Papers
- Abstracts and full papers are due by 1 February 2010
- Abstracts (200 words) and full papers (no more than 4000 words)
- Abstracts must be submitted as MS Word documents (.doc)
- Full papers may be either MS Word 2003 or 2007 documents (.doc or .dox)
- The completed paper, with any amendments as a result of the selection process, is due by Monday 15 March, 2010
Workshops / Interest Sessions
- Abstracts/session proposals (200-500 words) are due by 1 February 2010
- Abstracts/session proposals must be submitted as MS Word 2003 or 2007 documents (.doc or .dox)
- Workshop presentation sessions will be 60 minutes in length.
The format of the presentation is at the discretion of the presenter(s). The body of the workshop should be presented in no more than 50 minutes and then allow a further 5–10 minutes for discussion and feedback.
Workshop presenters are required to provide all instruments for their session, with the exception of a piano which through negotiation may be provided by the Conference Organising Committee in the workshop space.
Formatting of full papers
- All papers (including references) must be presented using the APA Formatting and Style Guide (5th edition)
- Papers should not exceed 4,000 words
- Font should be Times New Roman 12 point
- Single-spacing
- New paragraph indent of 1 cm with no space between paragraphs
- Headings hierarchy as per APA
- Tables inserted within text
- A4 page
- 2.54 cm (1 inch) margin on all sides
- Any diagrams must be as embedded (inserted) as bitmaps <.bmp>, CompuServe bitmaps <.gif>, or joint photographic experts group <.jpeg> or <.jpg> files

Presenters Registration
All selected presenters will be required to submit a registration form (hardcopy or online) and pay the registration fee. Speakers need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
