AUDITION PROCESS FOR ALL

2010Choralfest  Honour Choir Applications

 1. Set piece: Advance Australia Fair

Starting on the pitches listed below, sing the first verse unaccompanied.
Accompanied singers will be disqualified.

Sop I: A above middle C
Sop II: G above middle C
Alto: E above middle C
Tenor: A below middle C
Baritone/Bass: E below middle C

2. Own Selection:

One to two minutes of an own choice piece. with or without accompaniment, suitable for competition or festival. Limit the piano introduction to a few measures..
Do NOT use taped accompaniment tracks. 

 

Financial Obligation

Each singer auditioning will be financially responsible for the following:

  • Audition CD
  • Package and postage to mail audition application
  • $25 non-refundable audition fee

Each singer accepted will be financially responsible for the following:

  • Transportation to and from the event in Port Macquarie NSW
  • Accommodation
  • $175 Non-refundable Registration Fee
  • All Meals other than specified inclusions

 

Guidelines for Audition Recordings

1. Applicants must send in their own recording with their application forms and fee.

2. Use the best recording equipment you have available. CD recordings are preferred.  

3. Clearly mark the applicant’s name on the CD. On the recording container, mark the applicant’s name, grade, school, city and state, preferred part, and title of the prepared piece.

4. Do NOT give the name of the student or any other spoken information on the recording.

5. Record the items on the CD in the order listed above.

6. LISTEN to the recording before you send it.

7. CDs will not be returned.

 

Audition/Notification Process Timeline (Deadlines are firm)

Audition material postmark deadline April 16th 2010

Notification of all singers April 30th 2010

Acceptance postmark deadline May 7th 2010

Music packets mailed on or before June 11th 2010
